What we’re doing
To celebrate United Nations World Youth Skills Day we are excited to be delivering a campaign called #Sculptyourskills.
We want to give young people the confidence, motivation and support to challenge themselves and learn a new skill!

Why we’re doing it
In 2014, the United Nations General Assembly declared 15 July as World Youth Skills Day, to celebrate the strategic importance of equipping young people with skills for employment, work and entrepreneurship. Since then, World Youth Skills Day events have provided a unique opportunity for dialogue between young people, technical and vocational education and training (TVET) institutions, firms, employers’ and workers’ organizations, policy makers and development partners. Participants have highlighted the ever-increasing significance of skills as the world is embarking on a transition towards a sustainable model of development post Covid-19.
How to get involved
Pick whatever skill you want to learn and do it! We are challenging all young people to spend 5 minutes a day for the month of July to learn something new, we just ask that you share it with us and send us pictures or videos of you doing it! Want to go one step further why not get sponsorship to do it? If you want access to a sponsorship form contact jessica.danby@sculptuk.org
Want to build your digital and communication skills? Throughout the last week of July we are offering 2-3 young people the chance to do a Sculpt social media takeover for a week. We operate on all platforms including tiktok so this is a really fun opportunity to put your social media skills to the test! Send Izzy, our social media co-ordinator, an email explaining in 300 words why you are perfect for this opportunity by Friday 15th July! Email: isabelle.bettis@sculptuk.org
Passionate about building resilience to gender stereotyping and building your knowledge on how to tackle this in the creative arts, tv and film? We are holding a conference on the 5th July. Sign up here
Are you an aspiring entrepreneur that wants to connect and network with likeminded young people and talent leads, as well as build your skills through a day of activities? Sign up for our conference here.
