Parents and teachers to work together to counter sexism and gender-based discrimination in schools. We will create E-books, courses and…. other didactic materials.
Gender-based discrimination and sexism is widespread in European Schools, and many teachers aren’t given sufficient training or support in order to deal with the issue. Indeed, according to a study by the National Education Union and UK Feminista, only 1/5 of secondary school teachers in the UK have received training in addressing gender-based discrimination and sexism (NEU, Feminista, It’s Just Everywhere, 2017). Because of this, IARS is coordinating Free from Gender Based Discrimination: Teachers & Parents Together.
The project seeks to create a system for parents and teachers to work together to counter sexism and gender-based discrimination in schools. This will be through the creation and dissemination of a number of e-books, courses, and other materials.
Sculpt is not alone in this, we are partnering with the following organisations:
-Symplexis (Greece)
-Association Caminos (Spain)
-Novel Group SARL (Luxembourg)
-Subversive Front (The Republic of North Macedonia)
-IDEC (GREECE)
Each of these organisations were chosen because of their experience and specialty, and combined, ensures that FREE has a truly pan-European scope.
