Youth Project Officer- Part time and flexible working – Immediate start in Southwark
We are currently recruiting for a youth project officer to work on a consultancy basis on 3 projects Involve Youth Southwark and Children First. We will guarantee 3 days per week of work, and we would allocate more days as needed as long as you are available. Daily rate is £100. Other benefits include: funded travel abroad, free accredited training and e-courses.
You will lead on a project that will bring opportunities in Southwark for young people aged 14-20 to become more ‘Active, happy, healthy, safe and prepared’ by delivering activities such as conferences, workshops, training sessions, internships and volunteering opportunities for people in the Borough with particular focus on young people from marginalised backgrounds (including Black, Asian and minority ethnic) who tend to be disengaged. This also includes people with disabilities, mental health or visual or hearing impairments. Experience and contacts in Southwark would be particularly valued.
Ideally you would also have some knowledge of gender based violence who is able to collect real-world experiences of young people who have gone through this as well as their views of this topic. If you don’t So someone who has the skills and sensitivity to get young people to talk openly about this would be sufficient.
You will assist young carers in developing the skills, confidence, and competencies to become social entrepreneurs.
