Diving in head first

My name is Brandon Caprioni and I am a political science and economics major at Villanova University in the US. When I first found out about the opportunity to study and work in London for the summer, I immediately jumped at the chance. Filled with excitement, I couldn’t wait to begin my journey. Then the realization set in. I’ve never been away from home for this long, I’ve never traveled without my country, and, on top of everything, I’ve never had an internship before. My first internship was going to be in a country I’d never been to before. Excitement quickly turned to nervousness.

One of the most important lessons I’ve learned on my abroad journey is that the best way to get over your nerves or fears is to dive in head first. Working at Sculpt helped me realize this, along with a plethora of other valuable lessons. The team at Sculpt immediately welcomed me with open arms and integrated me into the passionate and committed environment they’ve created. I’ve learned so much from the Sculpt team about being a hard worker, an efficient networker, and a creative thinker.

With Sculpt, I helped create lesson plans for programmes like Spark and Power Up, attended networking events to recruit local businesses to help with Bankside Futures, along with using software like Notion to create CRMs. I’ve gained invaluable experience from these tasks and learned how to dive into a new experience
