Serin took part in our Learn2Work programme during his time at Sculpt. Learn2Work is a professional development opportunity to support young SEND people at the beginning of their careers journey, primarily those aged 16+. This 8 week programme aims to break down the barriers to opportunity through bespoke sessions on important professional and social topics and skill development.
Hi my name is Serin and I spent 8 weeks on a work experience programme at Sculpt. I enjoy watching anime, studying and making things. Through this experience I realised I could turn my love of crochet into a small business as it’s something I’m passionate about.
Working with Sculpt I was able to identify my skills:
- Creativity – I can think outside of the box and make new things
- Teamwork – I can contribute with others to reach a goal
- Communication – I am happy to share my ideas and opinions, especially debating
Sculpt has organised programmes that I would recommend to other young people because you will feel supported to achieve your goals
