Ataul took part in our Learn2Work programme during his time at Sculpt. Learn2Work is a professional development opportunity to support young SEND people at the beginning of their careers journey, primarily those aged 16+. This 8 week programme aims to break down the barriers to opportunity through bespoke sessions on important professional and social topics and skill development.
Hi my name is Ataul and I spent 8 weeks on a work experience programme at Sculpt. I love going to the park with my family to ride my scooter and feed the ducks. I love listening to music and dancing, it makes me happy! Through this experience I realised I want to be an artist with my own arts and crafts shop. I’m also interested in being a carpenter and I’m looking into training courses in this area.
Working with Sculpt I was able to identify my skills:
- Creativity – I love to draw and add colour to all my creations
- Team player – I enjoyed working with my classmates and I feel closer to all of
them - Computer skills – I am so much more confident using laptops and showing my creativity through canva
Sculpt helps autistic people with life skills and I would recommend others to try out this programme to learn like I did.
